How to: #1 Rope Ball

A practical guide to making a ball to add to your cat’s toy collection.

This simple ball uses a traditional Monkey’s Fist Knot. No weight is required in the middle, however you can choose to use a small wooden bead if you prefer.

• Materials

  Cord / Rope (3mm macrame rope works well), cut long 1m long 

• Tools

  Scissors

• Note

  • Always supervise play and make sure that the ball is big enough that your cat can’t swallow it.

  • I use cotton which is free of plastics and dyes.
